Move-In Day: A New Chapter Begins – Elisia.mx

Every university journey begins with a first step. For our newest Red Wolves and Bobcats, that step began on August 1st as students and their families arrived on campus for Move-in Day.

More than simply moving into a new room, the day marked the beginning of a new stage filled with opportunities to grow, build friendships, discover new interests, and start creating the university experience each student wants for their future.

And what better place to do this than Elisia Education Hub, a unique campus in Querétaro, Mexico that is home to two extraordinary American universities: Arkansas State University and Texas State University.

Students arrived throughout the day with a mix of excitement, anticipation, and plenty of luggage as they prepared to make campus their new home.

Their first stop was the Great Hall, where students completed the administrative process needed to begin this next chapter. From there, they made their way to the Residence Halls, opened the doors to their new rooms, unpacked their belongings, and began turning this new space into a place of their own.

For many students, these were among the first moments when university life began to feel real. Because at Arkansas State University and Texas State University, they will live the authentic college experience, living in the dorms and experiencing a college town all their own.

Moving away from home, meeting new people, adapting to a different environment, and becoming part of a new community are important milestones. Move-in Day gave students the opportunity to experience those moments alongside the people who have supported them throughout their journey.

A Day to Celebrate Together

While students settled into campus, families were invited to enjoy a special celebration in the Student Union building area, designed to make their first day together even more memorable.

Throughout the event, guests explored a variety of activities and experiences, including a vineyard experience and a special area presented by Volkswagen, featuring spaces for children and areas to relax. Different vendors also joined the celebration, creating opportunities for families to spend some quality time together before students officially began their university experience.

The afternoon was filled with music, culture, and performances that brought the campus community together.

Guests enjoyed live music as well as a ballet performance by Allonge Academy. Grupo de Danza Macehuani shared a traditional music and dance performance, bringing an important cultural element to the celebration.

The program also featured an impressive equestrian show by Hacienda Tovares, creating another memorable moment for students and their families.

Together, these experiences transformed Move-in Day into much more than an arrival. They created an opportunity for families to celebrate how far their students have come and everything that lies ahead.

The First Memories of University Life

The first days of university often become some of the memories students remember most.

The first time walking into a residence hall. The first conversation with a new roommate. The first goodbye to family. The first moment of realizing that a completely new experience is about to begin.

Move-in Day represents all those moments.

For each student, the journey ahead will look different. Some will discover new academic interests. Others will find communities, activities, friendships, and opportunities that shape their university experience in unexpected ways.

There will be challenges, accomplishments, new responsibilities, and moments of growth along the way. What begins with moving into a room can ultimately become years of experiences that help students define where they want to go next.
